One of the core concepts and tools we teach in our Art of the Seer Training is neutrality as a sensitive. To truly observe something as it is, not as you are, one must find a place in their own energetic and spiritual awareness where they are outside of the influence of thoughts, emotions, agendas, and “right and wrong”. This is especially helpful when reading or seeing energy that is particularly charged and intense. We so easy go into “defender” mode, “defeat it” mode, “fix it” mode, or “solve it” mode - it’s a natural human instinct when faced with an issue, problem, pain, or concern that causes us alarm or stimulates our own sense of safety and personal autonomy.
Neutrality is an incredible tool as a sensitive. It gives you permission to see something simply as it is. This state of awareness also creates space to see oneself clearly in relationship to what one is seeing or observing, or experiencing.
So many times people come to my practice in deep pain and crisis; working hard to understand why something happened, or how to change the energy and move on from painful and deeply troubling events of their lives. More and more these days, I am working with students and clients who are troubled by the very world itself; as the experience of being in the world is becoming more and more untenable for those of us sensitive to the changing and intense energy around us.
Without neutrality, I’m not sure I would be able to be of much assistance in providing insight, guidance, and information about who they are in spirit within the broader context of their life experience, and of course what (sometimes small) personal insights and self-mastery learning moments there may be, like finding diamonds in this very rough time.
I have found that sometimes people mistake the tool of neutrality for permission to step out of the world and their relationships completely, or points them towards abdicating responsibility towards equity and justice for the sake of being “spiritual” or “awake”. Once you experience neutrality in your energy, the sense of peace and calm that unfolds within oneself is addictive and attractive.
That’s not what the intent of this state of awareness is meant to be; it cannot be a perpetual state in a lifetime without dangerous and deep repercussions to personal karma and spiritual growth.
Those who forsake acting as a part of the global community in favor of neutrality to world events, or community events, or even personal events are stepping out of the very essential thing that makes us human beings having a shared experience.
One cannot be on a path of spiritual growth and inward exploration without also considering the ability and permission for others to find and have the same freedoms. Neutrality is a state of awareness that is helpful for not getting entangled in complicated energies so you can glean insight, direction, and clarity. But at some point, you have to intercede - wether in the circumstances of your own life experience, or in that of the community around you. Finding a state of neutrality allows you to learn when action is really required, in an efficient and helpful manner.
At Art of the Seer Academy, we teach this tool to our readers and healers for the experience rich and extra-ordinary benefits it provides within a context of working with energy. However, like all states of being and all spiritual teaching, it is not meant to be perpetual and all consuming. There are times when direct intervention, direct action, a clear and concise moment of judgement is required. Finding out when those moments are, and what action you are personally willing to take - what to put your energy into to create change, is entirely up to oneself and oneself alone.
